This is the air I breathe.
Whether kids or adults, one of my greatest joys is to shoulder with others in bringing true hope and healing to those seeking it. Working with horses in the journey is simply eye opening, so many insights to be gained in this space! To watch God at work in lives, baby steps or giant leaps, every step is a moment of celebration in my heart. Watching freedom unfold in one's life is beautiful! I come to the ranch with degrees in psychology, sociology, and certifications in mental health counseling, life and leadership coaching. My heart is to be of encouragement, joy and even hard truths when needed if it helps grow people forward. A Favorite Verse: "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!" Psalm 34:8 |

Hello! I'm Elise Baird. I am from southwest Wisconsin, where I spent my childhood working on the family dairy farm alongside my nine siblings, spending time with my horses whenever possible. As a young girl, I was inspired by the books "Bridge Called Hope" and "Hope Rising" by Kim Meeder, which tell stories of how God works through the horse ministry she and her husband founded. Kim’s stories had a profound impact on me, igniting a passion to be part of a similar ministry.
After graduating high school, I dedicated two years to serving at Silver Birch Ranch, where I spent most of my time in the barn. It was here that I recognized the critical need for intentional mentorship for struggling youth, brought to life by spiritually mature Christians and the support of animals. During my time at SBR, I met Heidi, and I was inspired by the ministry at Crossfire Ranch and her vision for it. I am thrilled to join the CFR team and contribute to the wonderful work the Lord is doing here! In my free time, I enjoy spending moments with my nieces and nephews, baking, singing, reading, and enjoying the company of just about any animal. |

“Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity.”1 Timothy 4:12
This spring Emma sent her volunteer application and since then, well, we have simply found so much delight in this young lady. Emma has one of the sweetest dispositions ever. She’s game for helping where needed and during the camp she volunteered at she gave mini lessons to a number of the kids who wanted to further their riding skills. Her gentleness, mixed with her “I can!” attitude are an example to everyone who meets her! Emma has joined our team in helping keep the horses exercised and with ranch chores! We are blessed in having you here young lady! |

What is one of your favorite parts about being a part of the Crossfire Ranch team? I love training the horses that will show others what a blessing it is to be alive, it gives me a deeper understanding of my impact in the world.
Why did you choose to join the ranch team? My spirituality has grown so much over the years and I have seen first hand the impact animals have on conveying God’s word. That’s when I knew I needed to be apart of helping those experiences happen for others! Favorite quote or words of wisdom:“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 This verse pushes me through struggles, big and small. Calli joined our Equine Team this summer and is such a young lady of character, dedication and tenderness. Callie has been helping Crossfires' horses be their best through exercise and brining new challenges into their world. Calli not only is a fantastic young horse woman, she is also a competitive figure skater! |
